One summer night, out on a flat headland, all but surrounded by the waters of the bay, the horizons were remote and distant rims on the edge of space.

Millions of stars blazed in darkness, and on the far shore a few lights burned in cottages.  Otherwise there was no reminder of human life.

My companion and I were alone with the stars:  the misty river of the Milky Way flowing across the sky, the patterns of the constellations standing out bright and clear, a blazing planet low on the horizon.

It occurred to me that if this were a sight that could be seen only once in a century, this little headland would be thronged with spectators.

But it can be seen many scores of nights in any year, and so the lights burned in the cottages and the inhabitants probably gave not a thought to the beauty overhead; and because they could see it almost any night, perhaps they never will.

Look what I found!

I have become an Esty lover and I stumbled upon this amazing artist. The studio is called HJM Art Gallery, and you must stop by her etsy shop and view these colorfully whimsical works of art!

Here is a little bit about the artist: “I have an incredible experience every time I take a brush in my hand. Every painting I do is Me with somebody else’s heart and soul. I see invisible seas, I smell the fragrance of distant flowers, and hear the sounds of mysterious lands. When I open my eyes wide: I am a stranger, I am a wanderer and a child. I am an artist.” Helen Janow Miqueo

I purchased a set of two beautiful Giclees which now have a warm cozy home on a wall in my living room.

I love them because they remind me of my family at the present time!

Let me explain why>>>

This painting of the two little birds together reminds me of my boys, they are each others best friend and they are inseparable. I pray that as the years pass that they remain with this closeness and continue to be each others shoulder so to speak. I love you boys!

and now, this painting reminds me of myself and my husband. I am the bird to the left, and my husband is the bird at a distance. Although he is currently in Iraq and not here in the physical sense, he is here in so many other ways. We love you and miss you!

Look What I Found!

About this lovely shop and the wonderful creator behind each and every exquisite piece of natural, rustic creation…

Each piece is infused with the creators Peruvian heritage and she is highly inspired by natural elements (as are We!). Her elements of  inspiration are, silver, semi-precious stones, leather and seeds from the Amazon rain forest.

“I love using natural elements from Peru. It is important to me when designing and handcrafting my work to use eco-friendly materials whenever possible. I am able to attain some of my Sterling Silver supplies from a manufacturer that refines their metal from recycled silver. I use sustainably harvested Tagua nuts, Acai and Huayruro seeds. These natural resources also give the native people of the Amazon an economic means that does not involve the destruction of the Rain Forest.”

I am so in love with butterflies so when I saw the beautiful butterfly offerings I had to take matters into my own hands…needless to say, the images do not due each piece justice, you simply have to hold it in your hands to really appreciate the detail and natural beauty…

So stop by and visit: Tania Cavenecia Torres

Look what I found!! I love, love, love these truly unique accessories. Each purse is hand crafted using recycled books and records…how awesome is that?? I actually bought a Beatles purse for my bio mom and it looked amazing, I was so pleased. Being that I am a self proclaimed book junkie, I was so ecstatic to learn that they also have purses made from books. You must stop by their site and see these musical and literary treasures for yourself… COVER TO COVER PURSES
